Legacy lives on: More space for Scranton trust will provide opportunities for area nonprofits

The Scranton Area Community Foundation held a ribbon cutting and opening ceremony for its new headquarters at the historic Century Club in the city. The Scranton family helped form both organizations.

Both the inside, including the sanctuary, and outside of St. Luke's Episcopal Church was added to the National Historic Register of Places.

St. Luke's Episcopal Church, an over 150-year-old church, in Scranton joined many Scranton and Lackawanna County buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.

150-year-old schoolhouse in Silver Lake Twp. gets national historic recognition

Around 60 families had their history memorialized last month in the National Register of Historic Places. Descendants from the Richmond Hill School celebrated the one-room schoolhouse’s historic accomplishment on Sunday, Oct. 13. The school was commemorated for its role in Silver Lake Township’s early education and Irish history.
