Okay. But before you fork over thousands of dollars to sit next to Jack Nicholson at the NBA Finals, you might want to check out his celebrity ranking. Forbes has come up with its 2008 Celebrity 100 List. The magazine ranks what it calls the world's ultrafamous, based on fame or media mentions plus earnings. Topping the list, no surprise, Oprah Winfrey.
INSKEEP: Renee.
MONTAGNE: Yes?
INSKEEP: It was Renee.
(Soundbite of laughter)
INSKEEP: Weren't you at the top of the list?
MONTAGNE: No, Steve. I wasn't even on this planet with the list.
INSKEEP: Oh. Oh, okay. Fine.
MONTAGNE: You want to know who number two was? Take a guess.
INSKEEP: Renee. Oh, I'm sorry.
MONTAGNE: Tiger Woods. But basketball does have plenty of stars at the top of the rankings. The Lakers' Kobe Bryant, number 19. LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers, number 16. Michael Jordan - I'm sort of surprised he's lower, but he's number 18. So guess where Jack Nicholson falls on the list?
INSKEEP: He's, I don't know, 50? Fifty-five?
MONTAGNE: He's not on the list. Not even on the list.
INSKEEP: Okay. All right.
MONTAGNE: But he does get a front row ringside seat always at the Lakers...
INSKEEP: They didn't survey anybody in Los Angeles, apparently.
