TTC Extra: Supreme Court Ruling on Misinformation on Social Media

Season 33 | 5m 52s

The US Supreme Court approved the Biden Administration’s request for social media platforms to remove misinformation. The 6-3 decision ruled it did not violate 1st Amendment rights and that the plaintiffs lacked standing. This supports the administration's push to rid social media of inaccuracies. Proponents call it a win for public health, but it has fueled debate on free speech versus censorship

Funding for TO THE CONTRARY is provided by the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation, the Park Foundation and the Charles A. Frueauff Foundation.
