The Delaware River, which flows through the Poconos in Northeast Pennsylvania, is up against Perkiomen Creek, a tributary of the Schuylkill River, located northwest of Philadelphia; and the Youghiogheny River in Southwestern Pa.

The Upper Delaware BioBlitz took a snapshot of biodiversity in Wayne County. Over 24 hours, both professional scientists and amateur naturalists identified around 720 species around the Delaware River. It also gave the public a chance to meet with scientists in the field.
