Johnson College

Future diesel mechanics will soon learn at a facility close to downtown Scranton. Johnson College purchased an 8,700-square-foot building at 814 Wyoming Ave., the school announced Wednesday.

Johnson College will hold a transfer day at its Scranton and Hazleton campuses on July 31. The event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. is for current college students who are interested in changing the direction of their education and ultimately their career path.

The modern building houses program labs, office space and new technology.

Johnson College hosted about 100 girls from Wayne and Susquehanna counties for the annual Girls on Fire event. The students in sixth through ninth grades attended hands-on sessions related to careers in STEM.
