July 10, 2025 - Gov. Josh Shapiro signed a bill yesterday repealing the state’s Sunday hunting ban. Keystone Mission’s executive director stepped down early and Scranton business owners don’t want parking fees to go up or hours to extend for downtown meters.

Rosemary Boland, who started teaching in Scranton in 1969, led strikes, advocated for children and provided a voice for her membership. She retired as president of the Scranton Federation of Teachers last week.

More than 150 people marched in downtown Scranton after school on Tuesday, angry about the possible elimination of the U.S. Department of Education and concerned about the programs it administers.
