Starting Sunday night, Jews across the region will light the first candle on their menorahs to welcome the Festival of Lights. There also will be a range of Hanukkah-themed activities around the region, starting today.

Before holding this year’s Seder dinner at the Friedman Jewish Community Center in Kingston, Gerri Kaplan hosted a “A Taste of Passover” at Temple Israel to teach kids the importance of Passover to Judaism’s history.
