Nearly five years after the COVID-19 pandemic forced schools to close, the impact of the virus and the response to it can still be seen in classrooms across Northeast and Central Pennsylvania. WVIA’s Sarah Hofius Hall analyzed standardized test scores and visited schools across the region for a WVIA News special report. She discusses her findings on Morning Edition with WVIA's Sarah Scinto.

The pandemic continues to impact education in Northeast and Central Pennsylvania. Most school districts have not reached test proficiency rates achieved pre-pandemic. WVIA News visited classrooms across the region and looked at the scores of 500 districts statewide.
