Duryea

Pennsylvania is investing in outdoor recreation, including trails. In Northeast Pennsylvania many organizations are working separately and together to provide opportunities for local communities and the people who live in them.

There are Easter egg hunts, Earth Day events and other outdoor happenings this weekend.

A production of Spring Awakening, a chili cook-off, an outdoor run and other events are planned for this weekend around the region.

Between Scranton and Wilkes-Barre lies Duryea, a small borough with big plans to be an outdoor recreation destination in Pennsylvania. About 60 people took on a first day of the year hike through the Duryea wetlands to learn about the area’s future.
