National program gives families who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits free or reduced admission to more than 1,400 museums throughout the U.S., now including Scranton's trolley museum.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services, the federal agency dedicated to funding libraries, placed its entire staff on leave at the end of March. Local librarians say that’s left funding that would go to the Pennsylvania state library system in limbo.
