Christmas came early for students at Dr. David W. Kistler Elementary School in Wilkes-Barre on Thursday, thanks to athletes from Wilkes University.

Bundle up, grab a cup of hot cocoa, and brighten your spirits at a holiday lights display this season. Here is a selection of attractions from Northeast and Central Pennsylvania to the Lehigh Valley.

The Ballet Theatre's performance of "The Nutcracker" began in 1976. The ballet is free for the community.

The big man in red will visit Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties this weekend to kick off the holiday season. The Scranton Santa Parade is Saturday morning, and Wilkes-Barre’s parade will step off that afternoon.

Most kids are at the start of a two-week holiday break and won’t step foot in a classroom until 2025. Don’t let them get cabin fever — check out some of the many seasonal events and activities around the region.
