County officials say the new 12-hole course will add another feature to attract visitors.

Between Scranton and Wilkes-Barre lies Duryea, a small borough with big plans to be an outdoor recreation destination in Pennsylvania. About 60 people took on a first day of the year hike through the Duryea wetlands to learn about the area’s future.

A revived field trip through the Lackawanna Valley is chugging full steam ahead this month. More than 1,000 fourth graders from the region will ride the Heritage Express from Scranton to Carbondale. The program is a collaboration between the Steamtown National Historic Site and Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority.
