The United Nations Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania organized a public celebration of the U.N. in front of the Lackawanna County Courthouse. The international organization's 80th anniversary was Friday.

A former insurance office building on Montage Mountain will soon be a home for the state’s largest cyber charter school. Commonwealth Charter Academy hopes the project, in both Scranton and Moosic, will be complete in mid-2026.

The Lackawanna County school district launched the Sources of Strength program this year. Fifth and sixth grade students serve as peer advisers.

With comprehensive services available at Riverside, counselors say recent surveys show decline in depression and anxiety.
