Parking will remain free on Saturdays in downtown Scranton, with two hours of paid weekday parking added instead of three.

July 10, 2025 - Gov. Josh Shapiro signed a bill yesterday repealing the state’s Sunday hunting ban. Keystone Mission’s executive director stepped down early and Scranton business owners don’t want parking fees to go up or hours to extend for downtown meters.

The Scranton City Council's 2-2 vote on extending paid parking hours temporarily blocked the idea, but the issue is expected to come up again Tuesday.
