United Way of Lackawanna, Wayne and Pike

Age Friendly Lackawanna launched Dementia Friendly Dining late last year. Three restaurants trained their staff to become ‘Dementia Friendly’ restaurants. The program aims to support caregivers and their loved ones with dementia while they are out to eat.

Parents of young children don’t always know about available resources, including free preschool, medical screenings or behavioral support. Three upcoming events will connect families with providers.

The Age-Friendly Lackawanna Celebration at Nay Aug Park gathered resources and support for older adults. And we'll hear from a student impacted by the "pause" on Job Corps operations.

The United Way of Lackawanna, Wayne and Pike hosted the event, which featured many organizations that serve older adults in the region.
