As the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program of Pike County nears the successful completion of their first year, they are hosting another training for future advocates.
CASA volunteers are not only advocates but mentors and a steady support for children within the Dependency Court system.
The program currently has 16 fully trained and active volunteer advocates serving 76% of the children within that court system. Pike County is hoping to be able to serve 100% children in 2023.
The virtual information session is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 12, at 6 p.m. on Zoom.
Those interested in becoming a CASA, should contact Dawn Allison at dmallison@pikepa.org or call 570-296-9827.
