Democratic U.S. Senator Bob Casey underwent a successful surgery on Tuesday to treat prostate cancer.
The senator from Pennsylvania was diagnosed in December.
A spokesperson for Casey says the senator’s doctor reported that the procedure went well and that he should not require further treatment.
Casey looks forward to getting back to a normal schedule after a period of rest and recovery, the spokesperson says.
