Geisinger will hold two Narcan distribution events this month. Narcan rapidly reverses the effects of opioid overdose. Geisinger staff will hand out boxes of nasal naloxone, fentanyl and xylazine testing strips and will teach attendees how to properly use them at both events. The first event will be held in Scranton from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26 in the Linden Street courtyard of Courthouse Square. The second event will be held in Wilkes-Barre from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Public Square during the Farmers Market on Thursday, Aug. 27. The events will be free and require no prior registration.
