Penn State Master Gardeners

In about a month, the weather will be warm enough to grow plants like cucumbers, tomatoes and more. Penn State Master Gardeners in Luzerne County say now is a good time to make plans for a vegetable garden.

Educational presentations at Penn State Wilkes-Barre this weekend will focus on growing a vegetable garden, making the most out of your garden produce and more.

In Carbon County, there is a pride celebration, D&L Trailfest and the Summit Hill Hootenanny this weekend. In Luzerne County, a Polish picnic and garden tour are scheduled.

The Back Mountain Bloomers Garden Club will host a garden tour Saturday, Jun. 28, inviting the public to visit a handful of the most beautiful gardens in Luzerne County.

Today, inmates care for other inmates at the end of their lives at SCI Waymart. And in Scranton, a new garden appeals to more senses than sight.

Scranton Tomorrow partnered with the Lackawanna Blind Association and Penn State Master Gardeners to create a sensory garden in downtown Scranton.
