THREE-DAY SPECIAL SERIES STARTS TODAY: Federal agents have arrested hundreds in Northeast and Central Pa. as critics question the wisdom and purpose of detaining so many non-criminal immigrants.

The Senate Majority Policy Committee, chaired by state Sen. Dave Argall (R-Schuylkill County), convened a public hearing at Benco Dental in Luzerne County to discuss dental workforce shortages and their impact on the state's health.

The proposal calls for Lehigh, Berks, Dauphin, and Lackawanna counties to establish the Southeast Youth Detention Agency to operate a youth detention facility in Berks.

After years of sending juvenile detainees to centers in other counties, Lackawanna County will send them to a Berks County center, which will reopen, perhaps as early as July 2027.

PennEnvironment representatives visited Hawk Mountain Sanctuary to discuss the need for a cohesive statewide plan for wildlife corridors to protect natural habitats and prevent wildlife from being killed on the road.
