Immigrant advocates say immigration enforcement agents targeted a well-known hospital system’s construction project in Danville in the last week. And Pennsylvania’s top election official says voting procedures remain unchanged despite a legal battle over mail-in ballots.

Pa. Immigration Coalition and Centre County Rapid Response Network say ICE agents arrested at least 42 since Sept. 2 in raids centered on the Geisinger Medical Center expansion project in Danville.

Geisinger College of Health Sciences expects to welcome students to its Geisinger School of Nursing Scranton location in fall 2027, offering associate degrees in nursing (ADNs).

Geisinger President and CEO Dr. Terry Gilliland says health plan had a $231 million operating loss last year, and is still struggling.

The project will include an 11-story tower, an expanded emergency department, and the transition to 100% private patient rooms at the hospital campus in Montour County.
