Gov. Josh Shapiro signed an executive order Tuesday imposing his standards for regulating data centers, despite the lack of a law to back them up.

The more than 3-hour-long commissioners meeting was filled with residents who want the county to hire a Harvard University doctor's firm to do the study. In the end, elected officials took no action.

The change in council happened during a regular meeting on Wednesday.

Developers of the proposed Wildcat Ridge Data Center campus mailed residents a pamphlet that many called 'propaganda' at Monday's hearing, during which an expert also gave testimony on traffic predictions.
