Inside the 45-foot long bus are three exam rooms, a restroom and waiting area. The clinic will be staffed by doctors and nurses through the city’s health department.
The mobile clinic will allow the city to bring vaccination clinics and free health screenings to the city’s neighborhoods and remove barriers like transportation, said Henry Radulski, health department director.
“Public health truly is community health,” Radulski said. “Community health is in the neighborhoods.”
The vehicle cost $921,860. Radulski said the clinic was funded by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
