Governor Josh Shapiro proposed in his recent budget address adding the Glen Onoko Fall Trails in Carbon County to the Lehigh Gorge State Park. The Pennsylvania Game Commission closed the popular, but dangerous trail near Jim Thorpe in 2019 because of the number of accidents there.

Countryside Conservancy acquired an almost untouched property in Susquehanna County. They plan to build a boat launch, hiking and biking trails. The conservancy will maintain Peck’s Preserve for passive recreation.
